Bishop John’s Basilica

Archaeological and cultural monument of National Importance, the Basilica is situated “in-sito” in the building of the Archaeological museum. It has magnificent floor mosaics, part of them decorated with fish and birds. In its narthex there is a unique for the country mosaic building inscription (V – VI c.) with important information about the Basilica – that it was built by Bishop John. It was found in 1960 and is partly explored.
